Happiness and joy are deep spiritual states as well as short-lived emotions, and there are ways to lengthen the moments and deepen the inner sense of well-being, helping you de-stress.
Ancient religious practices have helped countless people to live happier lives. More recently, psychologists have been researching what makes people happy, leading to the Journal of Happiness Studies and to a new field called Positive Psychology.
These 4 sessions will use these resources to guide us to several keys that will open deeper happiness and spiritual wisdom. Time for quiet reflection is included. The book/journal participants purchase will be used during the sessions and to continue the practices at home. Registration does not include cost of book ($20). Please bring book payment on first day of retreat.
Louise Prochaska is a recently retired professor of theology and Women’s Studies at Notre Dame College in Cleveland, OH. She holds an M.A. in English and a doctoral degree in moral theology. Louise finds joy in creating art pieces using a variety of media, cooking for family and friends, savoring the spiritual and cultural riches in foreign lands, volunteering, and finally, meditating in her garden.
