Lenten Luncheon: Exploring Lent with New Eyes

"Lent", translated into vernacular means "Spring".

We all know that most trees and bushes in our temperate climate zone mark Spring with spectacular, profound, life affirming changes. However, Fall and Winter, preparing for Spring, are often times of endurance and waiting and hoping. Our Falls and Winters prepare us for Spring and Easter.

Using our own experiences and images from John 15 (the Vine and the Branches) we will explore Lent through the eyes of scripture and an earth scientist and missionary priest.

Fr. Jim Strzok, SJ is 50 years a missionary priest, earth scientist, retreat guide, returning from 30 years in East Africa.
