"Lent", translated into vernacular means "Spring".
We all know that most trees and bushes in our temperate climate zone mark Spring with spectacular, profound, life affirming changes. However, Fall and Winter, preparing for Spring, are often times of endurance and waiting and hoping. Our Falls and Winters prepare us for Spring and Easter.
Using our own experiences and images from John 15 (the Vine and the Branches) we will explore Lent through the eyes of scripture and an Ignatian educator, leader and spiritual director.
Bill Hobbs has a remarkable background in Jesuit spirituality and leadership, and a calling to retreat ministry. He has served as a Vice President in the Jesuit Schools Network and for three decades as an educator, counselor, principal and president in Jesuit Schools. He also has been actively engaged in the Ignatian Spirituality Project and the Ignatian Solidarity Network. Bill joined JRC as the new Associate Director in January, 2020.
