Saturday Mornings from 9:00 - 12 noon

Facilitated by Martha Campbell, M.A., Psy.D. for Spiritual Directors, Retreat Leaders, Pastoral Ministers and Those Who Have Made the Full Spiritual Exercises.
Come, join the gathered community as we explore the contemplative way through the teaching of Evelyn Underhill, British poet and mystic. We will reflect together on two texts that have become spiritual classics: Practical Mysticism and Abba. Underhill writes: “The spiritual life is not a special career, involving abstraction from the world of things. It is part of everyone’s life and until we have realized it we are not complete human beings.” In these inspiring texts, we will be given guidance and encouragement as we respond to the call to engage the contemplative way through silence, solitude and contemplative prayer.
These four study/prayer sessions are designed to enrich your personal spiritual deepening for ministry and will include prayer (silent and communal), input, and faith-sharing, based on your prayerful reading of the text. To facilitate the process, chapter assignments will be communicated and should be read in advance. The only pre-requisite for participating in these sessions is a desire to embrace God in the whole of your life.
