Compassion is a necessity, not a luxury. Without it, humanity cannot survive.” (Dalai Lama)
Well-known author Joyce Rupp fashioned the Boundless Compassion retreat as a call to walk compassionately with self, others, and all of creation. In this 4-day retreat based on her book Boundless Compassion: Creating a Way of Life, participants will discover the seeds of compassion revealed in the gospels and in insights from theology, spirituality, science, sociology, and psychology. Come, explore the many-layered dimensions of compassion, the central quality of the life and teachings of Jesus.
Boundless Compassion facilitator Sister Mary Dean Pfahler will use presentations, small group discussions, media resources, personal reflection time, and guided prayer as catalysts for a renewed commitment to be a compassionate presence to yourself and to others in pain and struggle.
Participants in this in-person retreat are eligible to attend a future Boundless Compassion Facilitator Training.
Presenter: Sister of Notre Dame Mary Dean Pfahler accompanying individuals and groups in spiritual direction, the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius, and Boundless Compassion retreats.
Cost includes private room, all meals and retreat director’s fees.
