4-Week Ignatian Retreat: Weeks #3-4

Join us in a four-week, everyday life journey of Ignatian Spirituality through “Week #3” and “Week #4” of the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius of Loyola. The Exercises are mediations, prayers, and contemplative practices developed by St. Ignatius and structured into four “weeks” or movements.

This 4-Week Ignatian Retreat covers the follow movements of the Spiritual Exercises:
Week #3: Mission & Discipleship with Jesus, Humility, Road to Jerusalem, Christ’s Passion & Death.
Week #4: The Resurrection, Road to Emmaus, Transformation, Contemplation to Attain Love.

This retreat requires the completion of an Ignatian retreat. For example, you have completed an 8-day Ignatian Directed Retreat or 7-Night JRC Retreat equivalent, or the 4-Week Ignatian Retreat: Weeks #1-2.

BEFORE YOU REGISTER for this retreat, please email Fr. Paul O’Connor, SJ with your phone number and with your Ignatian retreat details (date, place, retreat director’s name, graces received on your retreat) and wait to register until you receive approval for this 4-Week retreat.

The 4-Week Ignatian Retreat Weeks #1-2 is offered every Fall.
The 4-Week Ignatian Retreat Weeks #3-4 is offered every Spring.

Completing two 4-Week Ignatian Retreats (Part 1 and Part 2) would be the equivalent of an 8-Week Ignatian Retreat in everyday life. Two 4-Week Ignatian Retreats fulfill a key requirement for the Spiritual Exercises 19th Annotation Retreat (offered every October at JRC) and for spiritual directors seeking certain credentials or spiritual development.

Overall, this Ignatian retreat in everyday life is ideal for anyone seeking to explore or deepen one’s relationship with God and take the next step in one’s spiritual journey.

Each Wednesday 7:00pm via Zoom, we meet as a group for prayer (10 mins), a presentation (30 mins), and we share the graces from our week of prayer (40-50 mins). Each week, the retreatant meets with a retreat director for about 55 minutes (at a scheduled time agreed upon by the retreatant and their director).

A retreatant:

  • Commits to praying the assigned spiritual exercises 45-60 minutes daily for this retreat.
  • Keeps a daily journal noting God’s activity and the retreatant’s response during their prayer.
  • Participates and shares in each of our four group sessions on Wednesday evenings.
  • Meets with a retreat director once a week (scheduled by the retreatant and their director).

Our presenter and facilitator, Fr. Paul O’Connor, S.J., JRC Director of Mission & Identity, guides us through this experience with other Ignatian leaders and retreat directors. For any questions and for retreat approval (see above), please contact Fr. Paul at
