Disciple-ing In John’s Gospel

Registration is now closed.

During Lent we renew our commitment to live more fully in Jesus the Christ through our reflection, prayer, and discernment.

For the Gospel of John, discipleship is a verb, an on-going life-enriching but demanding process. The process-nature of this Gospel provides us with much to consider in our disciple journey. The Gospel of John seems written primarily to offer guidance for this “discipling”, rather than being – as usually understood - a testimony about Jesus the Christ.

In our virtual sessions, we will reflect on this enriched understanding of the Gospel of John and its meanings for us. These sessions will include short presentations, reflective writing time, and the sharing of our insights.

Session 1: Jesus and the Process of Disciple-ing

Session 2: Peter, the In-Process Disciple Model

Session 3: Jesus’s Discipling Guidance in Chapters 13-17

Session 4: Death and Resurrection for Jesus’ followers
