In the northern hemisphere, we celebrate Advent amid the darkness of December. The deepening darkness of the month is offset by the hope for light in our lives as we pass by the winter solstice.
This is truly a threshold or liminal time in expectation of the coming of the Light in Christ. We are surrounded by the images and experiences of both darkness and light as we approach the Feast of the Incarnation (the birth of Jesus). In light and darkness there is both consolation and desolation.
In our time together, we will explore the themes of light and darkness in the Advent season. We will look at our awareness and experiences of consolation and desolation. There will be a presentation, time for silent, personal prayer, and conversation.
Come for the evening or join us earlier in the day for this same program along with a luncheon! Learn more here.
