Come, join the gathered community as we engage in conversation with Rainer Maria Rilke (1875 – 1926) through his reflections on God, life, and meaning-making. Rilke’s writing has inspired readers for more than a century, and never more so than now. His rare spiritual vision speaks uniquely in a time when many are asking questions that challenge life, faith, and meaning.

The text we will be using is authored by two scholars who have devoted their lives to translating and interpreting Rilke’s insights: Mark S. Burrows and Stephanie Dowrick. They invite us – with Rilke – to “live” the deep questions facing us in our day, embracing the poet’s refusal to reach for simplistic “answers.” Honoring our personal experience and in conversation with Rilke, we will be invited to examine our lives in light of our beliefs.

These four study/prayer sessions are designed to enrich our personal spiritual deepening for ministry. Our gatherings will include prayer (silent & communal), input, and faith-sharing, based on our prayerful reading of the text. To facilitate the process, chapter assignments will be communicated and should be read in advance. The only pre-requisite for participating in these sessions is a desire to embrace God in the whole of your life.

Program cost for the series is $150 due by August 13th.
