Join us for a virtual retreat on Teilhard de Chardin.
SJ (1881-1955) was a profound mystic and scientist, the first person to unite spirituality and science. While Teilhard did not write a treatise on his views of the church, his writings contain many references to what he saw as a new way, based on an evolutionary view of life, of understanding religion, church, and discipleship.
This course will adapt the insights of Louis Savary, a renowned Teilhard educator from his recent books Catholicism and Evolution and The Christian Phenomenon: The Once and Future Church.
The program will include short presentations, quiet times for journaling and prayer, and the sharing of insights.
Session 1: What does evolution mean for our living?
Session 2: How can Christianity live in an evolutionary framework?
Session 3: What will Christianity look like in the future?
Session 4: What does it mean to being Church in the “Cardisphere?”
Mike Reiling M.Ed., a retired high school theology teacher, is a serious student of Teilhard de Chardin S.J. Mike regularly leads adult classes on contemporary spirituality using Teilhard’s evolutionary and mystical perspective.
