Are you looking for more in your life? Do you sense things “shifting” inside of you?
Many people are surprised by the transition from the first half of life to the second half of life. It often feels like subtle tectonic plates moving inside of us. Some of us don’t even know a second half of life shift occurs, or maybe we experienced it (or are experiencing it), yet we did not know how to navigate it.
When a loved one has died, when we become a caregiver, when we face a life-changing diagnosis, when a best friend or spouse severs our relationship, when we’re jaded by unhealthy leaders or slanted boundaries, when we lose our job, when we discern a career or life change, or whenever our world has been turned upside-down, we notice that our lives are about to be transformed. And it’s either changing for the better, or it’s making us bitter, lost, and on a downward spiral for the worse.
This Transitions Retreat is an opportunity to reflect on life and faith while considering new career, job, work, life transitions, caregiving, and/or retirement. Using themes of Ignatian Spirituality and other areas, this retreat entails in-depth presentations, conversations, individual reflection, discernment, and more. Participants will address key dynamics of transitions and learn imaginative ways to explore their spirituality. This retreat opens you in a new way to God’s plan, sharpens your decision-making skills, defines new and meaningful work opportunities, and guides you on how to move forward.
To help you navigate key parts of the Second Half of Life & Transitions, this retreat includes:
Your presenters are Tom Pussel: Grief Recovery Specialist & Presenter, former hospice chaplain and current hospital chaplain, St. Raphael Parish Outreach Director, Retreat Presenter, cancer survivor, and Fr. Paul O’Connor, SJ: JRC Director of Mission & Identity, Ignatian Spirituality Presenter, Spiritual Exercises Retreat Director, and former caregiver to his father.
This is a great opportunity for anyone who feels moved to participate in this retreat. Please email Fr. Paul O’Connor, SJ, for questions and details: poconnor@jesuitretreatcenter.org.
