Slowing Down and Connecting with Nature
In-Person
Saturday, May 9, 2026 from 9:00am - 12:00pm
Forest Bathing, also known as Forest Therapy or Nature Therapy, is an immersive experience that engages all of one’s senses with the more than human world.
During a slow and easy walk, participants receive gentle invitations to connect with nature in simple and sensory ways, with opportunities to slow down and honor our reciprocal relationship with nature. Simple invitations encourage moving beyond an intellectual understanding of nature to a sensory experience of nature, uniquely experienced by each participant.
Catherine Mangan is a Certified Forest Therapy Guide through the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy Guides and Programs (ANFT). Join her in a gentle walk along the beautiful trails within the Jesuit Retreat Center campus. Walks will be approximately 2.5 to 3 hours in length, with opportunities for participants to sit, rest, and share their experiences as the walk unfolds. Simple snacks and refreshments will be offered as we gather together at the end of the walk.
Limited to 12 participants — register early!
Catherine Mangan is a former member of the Jesuit Volunteer Corps and is currently a retired clinical social worker.
