Forever the Beloved: Identity, Healing, and Hope

Are you confident in your identity? Have you given the Lord permission to love you, and have you embraced the deep and personal love he bears for you?

Too often, we think our identity is based on our social status, level of income or education, occupation, or accomplishments. We find ourselves chasing after “more” and “better,” hoping they will fill the emptiness inside of us. In truth, none of those things define us. Rather, we are defined by the love of God.

When we face hardship of any kind—whether it be a painful past, a difficult present, or an uncertain future—the Devil is hard at work trying to discourage us. He whispers lies like, “You aren’t good enough,” “You have been abandoned,” or “You are too lost to be found.” He points to our circumstances as supposed proof that we are both unloved and unlovable. If we believe him, our hope vanishes and our burdens feel heavier. But spirits soar and loads lighten when we know the truth: we are loved deeply by a God who knows us completely and desires nothing more than to draw us into his tender and merciful embrace.

These two evening talks are an opportunity to understand your true identity as Beloved Creation of the Father and to see how embracing God’s love for you can bring healing to your past and hope to your future. Using a combination of life experiences and Scripture, the truth of God’s intimate love will be presented in dynamic and meaningful ways. The schedule for the two evenings includes presentations, time for individual prayer and reflection, and the opportunity to pray with healing prayer ministers. By exploring the theme of belovedness, participants will come to understand the depth of God’s love for them and the true healing and wholeness that flow from it.

United under the theme of Forever the Beloved: Identity, Healing, and Hope, the two presentations 6:45pm-8:45pm will be:

• October 28, Your True Identity: Beloved Creation of the Father
• October 29, Healing and Hope: Grounding the Past and the Future in Your Belovedness (and the opportunity to pray with healing prayer ministers)

The presenter for these talks will be Jane Knappenberger. Jane had a PhD by the time she was 25, but, when it came to heart knowledge, she took the long way around the barn, only finding healing and wholeness when she came to know and claim the love of God. Now she’s passionate about pointing others to Christ, the only path to true hope, peace, joy, and fullness of life. To help everyday Catholics understand and claim their true identity, Jane has written two books entitled Eternally His and The Path of Love.
