Labyrinth Day Retreat

Come and join us for an afternoon of quiet and peaceful reflection to explore our new Labyrinth.

This day of retreat begins by gathering inside for a short presentation to learn about labyrinths and how walking them can deeply enhance our own spiritual practices.

Labyrinths are much more than a walk in a beautiful setting. Labyrinths have existed for thousands of years and have been used to bring inner peace, a sense of wholeness, and used as a means of healing.

We will explore:

  • The difference between a labyrinth and a maze.
  • Some of the amazing history of how labyrinths have been used since ancient times.
  • Images of a variety of examples of labyrinths.
  • The unique ways the labyrinth can be used for healing, and how there is even a science to how a labyrinth offers a different kind of awakening.

Before we move outside, we will discuss some different ways to walk a labyrinth and offer themes for this experience. There is no wrong way to walk a labyrinth, but having a better understanding can help you experience a deeper sense of the power of this spiritual prayer practice.

After the presentation, as we gather outside, there will be a quick orientation to the labyrinth and plenty of time to walk it silently. Journals will be provided to reflect and record your experience.

This is a beautiful time of year for a labyrinth walk with the changing colors of the leaves and the crisp autumn air. Please dress for the day’s weather and bring a water bottle.
