Thomas Merton & Thomas Kelly: a Catholic-Quaker Ecumenical Conversation

Using Kelly’s best-selling classic, A Testament of Devotion, supplemented with selections from a variety of Merton’s writings, this conversation explores common themes still relevant to contemporary spiritual life.

Kelly and Merton both seek to center their lives in the living Spirit of God. From this center emerges a call to do the Spirit’s work in a world dealing with violence, superficiality and loneliness. A conversation to influence and inspire.

Dr. Alan Kolp is Professor of Religion and holder of the Chair of Faith & Life at Baldwin Wallace University. He is a life-long Quaker, a Benedictine oblate and friend of the Ignatian spiritual path.
