Women's Retreat

This retreat offers 2 days (with an optional 3rd day) of prayer, meditation, daily Mass, discussion and relaxation along with powerful presentations.

Our theme is Joy on Life’s Journey. During this time of heavy domestic and global concerns, a time when anxieties seem rampant, we might be running low on the virtue of joy. How can we generate joy in our lives and live it for and with others? If we do not do this, our family celebrations will be tepid at best, and our daily work will be listless and without purpose. Joy is essential to prayer and it is the result of prayer. Now is the time to light the joy within us, to cultivate and deepen it once again. Remember, this is a learning retreat, not a silent one, but there will be opportunities for quiet prayer and personal reflection.

Our speakers are:

• Bob Kloos, retired pastor of St. Peter’s Community in Cleveland and founder of The Beacon Street Players, a group which entertained people nationwide on the joys of the Gospel and knowing Jesus.

• Sister Jean Marian (Cookie) Crowley, SC, a very funny woman who is retired from both teaching and running a Boys’ Hope residence in Cincinnati. Currently, she calls herself the Dean of Discipline of the older sisters in Cincinnati where she handles funeral planning for the sisters.

• Annamarie Kucharek, wife, mother, retired nurse, engaging speaker, and member of St. Dominic Parish. Service and hospitality are the hallmarks of Annie’s life, as shown by her commitment to immigrants and refugees, medical mission trips to Latin America, and promoting social justice locally.

• The Chavez Brothers, Miguel and PJ, are returning with their inspiring message and lively music.
  
  
• Father Bernie Owens, S.J., will be our liturgy celebrant on Tuesday afternoon.

The cost, which includes meals, room and materials, is $325 for two days or $475 for three days.
