A Word from the Director
As we witness violence in our country and in so many parts of our world, we pause to reflect on our own complicity with a violent life-style. (See Deepening Our Awareness – Something to Ponder, pg. 2). Here is where you will find us living into Christ’s mission of PEACE:
Praying with St. Ignatius Retreats. Beginning on February 11th, this 8-week retreat will be held at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Parish, Wickliffe. Team Members include: Rev. Paul Barbins, Patrick Cleary-Burns, Kathy Haag, Bill Hunt, Claudette Matero and Carl Toomey. Two new leaders, Mary Coffey and Dave Jesenovec, will be mentored by experienced faith-sharing facilitators. Margaret Balewski serves as the JRH Administrator for the retreat.
Nurturing the Call. Beginning on Thursday, February 9th, a team of six leaders including Margaret Balewski, Joan Carney, Jeannie and Patrick Cleary-Burns, Debbie Dacone and Liz Nau will begin a 5-part program, “Cultivating Effective Leadership Skills,” which will be offered to Leaders/Facilitators of Praying with St. Ignatius and the St. Ignatius & Walsh Spirituality Program for Adults. Martha Campbell and Janet Lehane are co-organizers of this program.
Food for the Journey. On January 21st, 12 participants began a new book reflection series focusing on the text by Harvey D. Egan, SJ, Ignatius Loyola the Mystic. We continue with three more monthly sessions.
Pilgrim Way of Ignatius Loyola. Facilitated by Sr. Carol Anne Smith, HM, this 4-part introduction to Ignatian Spirituality is being offered to the people of St. Mary and St. Jude Parishes, Elyria. Speakers in this series include Bob Linton, Amy McKenna, Debbie Dacone and Rev. Paul Barbins.
