As I write this, I am sitting at my desk in shorts and a short-sleeved shirt. It’s the last day of summer and over the last several nights there has been a noticeable chill in the air and the leaves are already beginning to change here at the center. It’s bittersweet as we head into the fall season. It has been a great summer here at JRC with wonderful retreats and programs and truly beautiful weather for most of the last few months. Possibly the highlight of the summer was our liturgy kicking off our 125th Anniversary celebration, with a packed chapel, presided over by Fr. Karl Kiser, SJ, the Midwest Provincial. During the liturgy, we signed our new cooperation agreement with the Midwest Province, indicating their endorsement of our work and our commitment to sustain this ministry as a work of the Society of Jesus...
